"When I was in middle school, I carried around my trumpet in giant, brown, hard-shell case. I remember being so embarrassed to haul around my extremely unattractive case that I resorted to stuffing my trumpet in my backpack! Fast forward to high-school and I received my first Reunion Blues black leather gig bag which I still use today. It is as stylish as it is durable. Reunion Blues makes carrying your trumpet look cool."

If you take the sensual and haunting trumpet playing of Chet Baker and couple it with the brooding good looks of James Dean and the singer-songwriter musical stylings of James Taylor, you get: Ryan Montaño.

A professional trumpeter, model, actor, arranger and songwriter, this attractive Latino was discovered by a film and talent agent while playing a blues gig in his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. From that point, he was able to break into the film and modeling world and has become an accomplished print, fashion, and runway model having appeared in numerous commercials, cologne ads, national television shows and Hollywood movies.

As a trumpeter, Ryan has performed with WAR, Poncho Sanchez, The Temptations, The O’Jays, and Hanson including national television performances on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”. As a songwriter Ryan creates compositions containing influences reminiscent of singer-songwriters such as Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, John Mayer, and Norah Jones. The sound of his trumpet is dark and haunting with an inexhaustible ability to whisper hurt into the ears of his audience.

With solid technique, jazz sensibilities and emotive songwriting, Montaño’s sound is a captivating fusion of jazz, folk, blues and singer-songwriting never before heard from any trumpeter or instrumental artist.

Ryan Montano is a Cannonball Trumpets and Reunion Blues Endorsing Artist.

Ryan's new single "Burning Boats" is now available on iTunes, CD baby, as well as his website
