"Reunion Blues bass cases are simply the best, bar none."
Nate Light is a professional upright and electric bassist, music producer, and music professor, based in Los Angeles, CA. He's known as one of a handful of working bassists in town who can truly cover any gig; whether he's speed-picking his way through punk rock tunes, laying it down in an acoustic jazz trio, or sawing away on low notes in an orchestra, Nate is right at home.
Nate currently plays bass with the legendary OC ska outfit, Save Ferris, as well as for recording artist, television actor, and broadway star, Matthew Morrison, best known for his leading role on the FOX television series Glee. You can check out Nate's recorded work on the newly released album, "Here We Go Love," by 2-tone luminaries, The English Beat. Additionally, you can catch him playing - and "acting" - on Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, currently available on Netflix.
Nate’s previous performing and recording credits include The Fenians, Michael “Miguel” Happoldt (Sublime/LBDAS), Hed P.E., Das Klown, Bleu, J.R. Rotem, The Janks, Nancy & Beth (Megan Mullally), Rose’s Pawn Shop, The Diamond Light, Jack Maness (Sublime/LBDAS), Nick Offerman, Andrea Marcovicci, Kotomi, Kenny G, The Long Beach Jazz Quartet, Ikey Owens, Mike Garson, Bob Mintzer, Alan Pasqua, Philieano, The Record Company, Ernie Andrews, Peter Erskine, Gregg Field, Angel Luis Figueroa, Roy McCurdy, Ron McCurdy, Barbara Morrison, Free Flight, Stanton Moore, Debbie Gibson, Jason Alexander, Jan Daley, Brad Ellis, Stephen Kramer Glickman, Joel Grey, Rich Little, Shelly Markham, and Sally Struthers, among others. He has performed live on national television shows including The Tonight Show, The Today Show, The View, The Talk, and Good Morning America.
In addition to his busy performing schedule, Nate is a key player in the Los Angeles music education community. He is currently Assistant Professor of music at Los Angeles City College, where he teaches courses in music business, music technology, music history, and music theory, as well as applied bass lessons. He was previously an adjunct professor at Cypress College and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California.
Nate has been an official Reunion Blues artist since 2013.
