“Reunion Blues offers style and the best safety in a guitar case. I wouldn’t trust my guitars in any other case.”
19-year-old Mathias Lattin has been making a name for himself on the Houston, TX music scene as a performer, session musician and writer. He began studying piano at the age of 5, but the guitar had his heart. He picked up the guitar when he was 7 years old and hasn’t looked back. He developed a love for the Blues after his grandmother introduced him to the music of B.B. King. He graduated from the Kinder High School for Performing and Visual Arts in 2020 where he studied jazz guitar. As a lover of music, Mathias is greatly influenced by horn players like Sonny Stitt, John Coltrane, and Sonny Rollins. The influences of Wes Montgomery, George Benson, and Curtis Mayfield can be heard in his music. Living in Houston has afforded him the opportunity to study and perform with some of Houston’s finest artists and musicians.
Mathias released his first single, “Notice Me” in 2020 while still a senior in high school. His self-produced debut EP “Let’s Start Here” hints at his musical influences; a fusion of jazz, blues, and soul, released in 2021. Currently, Mathias is a member of The Keeshea Pratt Band, the 2018 International Blues Challenge winner.
