Art Cruz was born and raised in Los Angeles California. At 12 years old he was taken to his first concert at the Hollywood Bowl  in Hollywood, CA to see family favorite, Carlos Santana. It was then and there that Art realized the sound of drums and percussion truly moved him.

Art joined the South El Monte High School Drum Line in the year 2004, and it was this year that his mother and father took his playing seriously. With his mom purchasing his first drum set, and dad purchasing percussion instruments, it was then he truly fell in love with drums. He went on to start a band of his own that year, grew within the local music scene and started working for bands who took him on small tours as a merchandiser and roadie.

In 2008 Art got his big break and joined Southern California metal outfit Winds Of Plague. He went on to tour WorldWide and record major album releases with the band via Century Media Records. Notably, "The Great Stone War" which debuted at #72 on Billboard 200, and "Against The World" at #62.

In late 2012, Art joined up with legendary New York metal band, Prong. He went on to tour world-wide, releasing four major albums with the band via SPV/Steamhammer. Art, Winds Of Plague and Prong are going 100% as of 2018 and he looks forward to many more years of musical journeys.
