Tim Flannery’s new CD “Three Ring Circus”

That guy in the beer commercial just thinks he is the most interesting man in the world. Tim Flannery now has that distinction. Not only is he a former major league baseball player and 3 time World Series champion as the SF Giants third base coach, he is also an analyst for the Major League Baseball network, he can surf the big waves AND he is releasing a phenomenal new CD called “Three Ring Circus” with his band The Lunatic Fringe. This guy grinded through 35 seasons of major league baseball as a player and coach. His body has some wear and tear, but his clever poet’s mind, songwriting and musicianship are better than ever and still firing on all cylinders. “Flan”, as his fans call him, is a one man grass roots movement for his music and his philanthropic foundation called the Love Harder Project.

All of his talents were on display at his CD release party on September 17th at Slims Music Hall in San Francisco. Reunion Blues was in the house and Tim wowed the crowd with great music. He also told jokes, stories and anecdotes, did impersonations and even spoke in Cherokee. His band is full of supremely talented musicians and they combine for a big sound. A number of San Francisco Giants joined Tim on stage and the show kicked off with a rousing set of music by Giants’ pitcher Jake Peavy and his band from Alabamflanslimsa. But the night was all about “Flan love”…Love for Tim and love from Tim. The sold out audience was in a state of rapture the whole night.

His new CD “Three Ring Circus” is like an Americana autobiographical novel with each song a chapter from Tim’s life of observations, ideas, experiences, visions and questions. The song “Gamblin” is about being a third base coach but haven’t we all done a little gambling on the corner? In the title song “Three Ring Circus” Tim is part carney and part preacher and all Flan. Doug Pettibone, right hand guitar player for John Mayer and Lucinda Williams is all over the CD and his guitar presence is like a hurricane. The title of the CD is taken from his three World Series rings and the cover of the CD is a photo of this very nice bling. You can get Tim’s new CD “Three Ring Circus” online at amazon.com, iTunes and cdbaby.com. All proceeds from sales of his CD benefit his Love Harder Project which is another reason Tim is the most interesting man in the world. He is one of the good guys in our world and a friend to all he meets.
