"We are making a big move to bringing our sound overseas and we trust that Reunion Blues is the best case for us to take with us while we do so!"
With the ever-increasing fragmentation of musical genres, it is easy for scenes to lose the passion and creativity that birthed them in the first place. Exploded into existence at the turn of the early 00s with frontrunners like Converge, Killswitch Engage, and As I Lay Dying, metalcore steadily created a movement and counterculture which has helped maintain so many loyal listeners even as times have rapidly changed and this is where Of Virtue comes in. For all those who have been longing for a way to express their innermost hidden fears and secrets, Of Virtue reaches out. Using a combination of soaring melodies and heavy-hearted screams, Of Virtue strives to welcome listeners with an open ear, to help answer a fundamental question of life ... “what defines you?”
Formed in Lansing, Michigan in 2009 with the concept of bringing their message of positivity to anyone who will listen, Of Virtue came out strong with EP “To Breathe Again,” in 2009. It was this which catapulted them into the ears and souls of thousands of listeners eager for something new. Knowing that they had captured the hearts of a fan base longing for a new set of expressions within a forgotten musical style, their first full album “Heartsounds,” helped define a message of inspiring people across the globe to find their passion through their music. The release lead to extensive touring with bands like Lorna Shore, Smash Your Enemies, and others of the same caliber. The band filled with “Learn / Love”, as a limited release album, which sold out almost immediately. In 2015, after taking a moment to focus in on their past, present and future, Of Virtue added more power to their sound via the release,“Salvation”, an album which has grown to be a staple for the band's sound. In 2017, the band released a major single, “Ghost Town,” and rapidly assimilated it within their live shows.
Of Virtue continues touring constantly to bring its sound to as many people live as possible. They have performed in the majority of states in the Continental U.S, in 12 countries in Europe and they will soon visit Asia. They have sold music and merchandise to over 50 countries across 6 continents. They have played several major heavy music festivals including Warped Tour, Cornerstone, JAMboree, Bled Fest, and Rockapalooza. Hot Topic awarded them the Band Grand prize in 2010 and the Earn It Yourself tour, which put them on the Kevin Says Stage at Warped Tour Detroit in 2011. Of Virtue have built a reputation an unmatched act supporting such bands Bring Me The Horizon, Of Mice and Men, Every Time I Die, The Ghost Inside, For Today, Architects, and many others. The band has no plans to stop or slow down soon, on the contrary.
After all this, the only thing they want to know is “what defines you?”
